Building a house, a boundary wall, or laying brickwork? Buildify supplies high-quality red clay bricks in all grades, from premium Class 1 (Awwal) to economical half bricks, directly to your construction site in Gurugram, Delhi, Faridabad, and across NCR.

What are Red Bricks and why are they still the most popular choice in India?

Red bricks supplier in Gurgaon

Red bricks, known locally as Lal Eet, Awwal quality or Pakki Eet, are the most traditional and widely used building material in North India. They are made from natural clay, shaped into a rectangular block, and then fired in a kiln at high temperatures, which gives them their characteristic red/copper colour and rock-solid hardness.

Despite newer alternatives like fly ash bricks and AAC blocks, red clay bricks remain the first choice for most builders and homeowners because they are time-tested, locally available, affordable in bulk, and easy to work with for any mason. From a simple boundary wall to a load-bearing structure, red bricks are dependable and versatile.

At Buildify, we source red bricks directly from kilns in Baghpat & Aligarh (U.P.) and Badli & Jhajjar (Haryana), two of the most trusted brick-producing regions for Delhi NCR, ensuring consistent size, proper firing, and real strength in every batch.

Where Do Our Red Bricks Come From?

Baghpat & Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh

Baghpat and Aligarh are among the largest brick-producing regions near Delhi NCR. The bricks manufactured here are made using high-quality soil and sweet water, and are fired using coal, which helps achieve excellent compressive strength. These bricks are known for their uniform size, dense clay composition, and consistent red colour, making them a preferred choice for residential construction across Gurugram and Delhi NCR.

Badli, Jhajjar, Haryana

Bricks sourced from Badli Jhajjar, Haryana are known for being harder and more compact in nature. Due to the region’s soil composition and firing quality, these bricks offer excellent strength and durability. They are widely used in Gurugram, Faridabad, and nearby regions for residential and commercial construction projects.

Frequently asked questions about Red Bricks

Awwal (Class 1) bricks are better fired, harder, darker red, and have sharper edges with lower water absorption. Laal Peti (Class 2) bricks are softer, slightly lighter in colour, and have higher water absorption. Awwal bricks cost more but are essential for structural walls. Laal Peti works well for boundary walls and non-structural work where you want to save on cost.

A rough estimate for a standard 1,000 sq ft single-floor house (G+0) is approximately 8,000–12,000 bricks, depending on wall thickness, height, and the number of openings (doors, windows). For a G+1 house, double that figure. Our team can help you calculate the exact quantity based on your plan, just call or WhatsApp us on +91-9999253084.

The standard IS (Indian Standard) size for a red brick is 9 inches × 4 inches × 3 inches (228 mm × 107 mm × 76 mm). With a standard 10mm mortar joint, this becomes a nominal 240 × 115 × 90 mm unit in a wall. All bricks we supply conform to this standard size unless a custom size is requested.

Yes, Grade 1 (Awwal) red bricks with a compressive strength of 10 N/mm² or above are suitable for load-bearing walls in residential construction. However, for RCC-framed structures (which most modern buildings use), bricks are used as infill only, not as structural members. Always consult your civil engineer for structural decisions.

Chatka bricks are over-burnt, which makes them very hard and dense but irregular in shape, so they can't be used for regular walling. They are ideal for road soling, drainage base layers, and hardcore filling under flooring, where durability matters more than appearance.

Our minimum order is 6,000 pieces. For smaller requirements, please contact us on +91-9999253084 and we'll try to accommodate based on your location and current availability.

We source bricks from established kilns in Baghpat and Jhajjar that follow IS 1077 standards for common burnt clay bricks. If you require a specific test certificate for a project, please let us know at the time of ordering and we will arrange accordingly.
